The Injustice System
Many teenagers, and even younger students, may feel helpless in the same way that the Exonerated Five were when they were first arrested. Often times, young students feel like their voices are not heard, and that their ideas and opinions are not valued. There has been a gigantic shift in this mindset in the past few years. These resources will show students that the truths they hold about the world have value.

History
Here is a short video documenting the timeline between the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and March for Our Lives. Some of the creators and activists of March for Our Lives describe how politicians do not know what it is like to experience one of these traumatic events. Even though many of them are not old enough to vote, the high school students explain how their truth will soon vote out the politicians that refuse to listen. |

This is a video of nine young climate change activists explaining the truths behind climate change, and why climate action is so important to them. Throughout the video, they describe how all of their collective experiences are more powerful than any singular voice. |

An issue in addition to gun violence and climate change that is important to many students across the country is food insecurity. Instead of hosting a normal food drive, this article portrays how a group of students in Washington D.C. combated food insecurity in their own community. The COVID-19 Pandemic has highlighted the significance of this issue causing more people to see the truth behind food insecurity. |

Culture
This is six-step action plan adapted from Martin Luther King Jr.'s "Letter From Birmingham Jail." This would be an excellent resource for students to create their own action plan to combat an issue such as food insecurity. There are many ways that students can use technology in their efforts like creating a pamphlet, filming a newscast, and making a podcast where they talk to people to learn about the truths of food insecurity in their own community. |
