The Purpose of a Blog
In my blog, I will explore politicians and topics that have spoken to me. In each post, I will make a connection to a main theme that I explored in the Honors Program. The main lenses of critical analysis that I will be focusing on are settler colonialism, intersectionality, truth, and humor.
In the blog, posts will be categorized according to the four lenses of critical analysis that I am focusing on. As a reader, you can either find a post that speaks to you, or use the categories to explore a specific topic. Each post will also have additional resources in the corresponding section under the "Resources" tab.
This blog will not end after the completion and presentation of this project. As a future educator, I intend to continue learning about how to have difficult conversations about our history and culture with my students. I invite you to join me and use technology and critical analysis to explore the topics of settler colonialism, intersectionality, truth, and humor. The purpose of my blog is to help me gather my thoughts on specific politicians and topics before thinking about how I might bring these ideas into my classroom. I encourage other educators to use the resources that I provide, but know that this is just a starting point. This work is ongoing, and we should all keep educating ourselves and learning about the world to effectively teach our students about these topics.
